Methodology
ESN has a well-defined
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model that takes
an iterative approach in executing a project. Each build
or milestone would have incremental functionality. Builds/milestones
are scheduled so that obtaining specific requirements
related to the build/milestone,
revision of project documents, planning, thorough testing
and bug fixing are carried out incrementally.
This approach mitigates risks
in Project implementation, espESNally in implementing
Macintosh based systems like Test Strip.
One of the team members plays
the role of a Quality Analyst. The main activities of
a Quality Analyst are to review and update project documents,
organize testing activities and conduct regular code reviews
and code walkthroughs.
Designated Team Members work
along with the Quality Analyst as members of the testing
team continuously aiming to enhance the quality of the
software delivered.

Introduction
Test Strip 3.0 is developed
for Vivid Details. It is a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop
with features for color correction, proofing and calibration.
It strips the image into sections and users can alter
the orientation and number of strips displayed and colors
can be added or subtracted with increments of 1%. The
target platforms for this plug-in are Windows NT, Windows
95/98, Windows ME and Macintosh.
Situation
Test Strip is fashioned after the old reliable darkroom
technique, where a print is divided into sections containing
different exposures to eliminate guesswork in the darkroom.
Test Strip strips an image into sections showing the
result of adding or subtracting various amounts of color,
density, contrast, or saturation in as little as 1%,
and the strip layout can be customized in a number of
ways. Whats more, any layout can be output as
a Test Proof and then printed on any device. Most notably
are Gels, and Metamorphosis, two unique features that
distinguish Test Strip from all other color correction
applications.
Test Strip Features
The core features of Test Strip
with a short description of each are provided below.
Panels
Test Strip is having 5 Panels.
- Ring Around Pane: Ring-Around
panel shows a comparison of different color possibilities
so that, user can quickly dESNde which color will
help improve an image.
- One Color Panel: Ring around
panel compares colors. One color panel compares amounts.
This is the place where the user dESNdes the amount
of change.
- Exposure Panel: This panel is
to make tonal adjustments to the image, such as Brightness
and Contrast.
- Saturation Panel: This panel
is used to adjust the color intensity of the image.
- Before and After Panel: This
is for preview purpose. It is for comparing the alternatives
with the original image.
MetaMorphosis
Metamorphosis is a guided system that corrects
images based on users response to a series
of previews. The user is not required to have any
color knowledge or experience of any kind. The user
will be prompted to choose one from a couple of
images with various alterations. Depending on the
user selections, the final image is prepared with
all the selected alterations.
Gels
Gels are independent, movable resizable strips.
Gels can be positioned any place on the image. Gels
can overlap to show the results of multiple color
overlapping. Gels can be grouped and moved together.
Highlights, Midtones and
Shadows
Using this feature, the color and density adjustments
can be done on highlight, midtone and shadow areas
of the image.
Step And Repeat
This mode allows the user to repeat a part of the
image. And all the color corrections will be applied
to that particular part of the image.
Movable Current Strip
This feature allows the user to move the Current
strip to any location by simply clicking and dragging
the Current Strip.
Flip Layout Button
The Flip Layout button transposes the Plus and Minus
values. The Current strip is the axis for the layout.
Other Features
- Supports RGB, CMYK
and Gray Scale Image editing.
- Supports Photoshop Actions.
- Compatible with iMac OS 8.6 and above.
