ECI has developed and released an SNMP Agent that can run on units in a wireless network such as
Texas Instruments Optical wireless network. This agent allows one to manage units in
a wireless network in a manner analogous to traditional networks using any standard network
management software.
The ECI SNMP Agent is an embedded application that sits on the wireless units and
provides the following features:
- Support for SNMP Version 1.0 and MIB-II standard ensuring compatibility with a large range of Network Management Software.
- Works on TALP2010 optical wireless processor.
- Allows both static and dynamic assignment of IPs to the units.
- Ensures plug and play of units via dynamic assignment of IP through DHCP and ARP.
- Generates trap messages based on error conditions such as link down, etc
- Provided as a library for ease of integration into the standard operating environment on the unit.
- Comes with efficient and reliable product support.
- Can be customized to meet specific OEM requirements like addition of OEM specific MIB variables and traps.
