This
is a Data Acquisition and Archival System intended to
record real-time measurements on Printer heads, for
benchmarking the performance of the printers.
The machine reel data
of printer heads is measured on a PC with a proprietary
OS. The data thus generated needs to be archived on
a Windows NT machine and then transferred to a UNIX
database. The system polls the serial port and accesses
the data using a pre-defined handshaking protocol. Once
data is received, it gets catalogued and stored.
|
Important
parameters of the data are displayed on the screen.
It then gets transferred to a UNIX database. A log of
the recent data images transferred is also maintained.
If the UNIX database is inaccessible, the images are
transferred at a later time. The operator retains the
flexibility to delete, modify and add additional reel
information to the data images throughout the whole process.
The system was developed
using MS Visual C++ and MFC
