Our Solution

We offered a three-tire solution to the problem. In which the business logic was to be implemented in different web services, which in turn will communicate with the backend database as well as the user interface layer. The . Net framework was used to develop the website and Microsoft’s Commerce Server was used for easy and effective maintenance and deployment of the website. MS SQL for database management.

Introduction

The project is an effort to develop a website as a distribution tool for the client’s digital content subscription service. Using the website, subscribers:

  • Become members
  • Search for, select and download licensed content for personal use.

Situation

EMME wants a tool, which will effectively distribute the digital content of EMME to the subscribers through Internet. The tool should provide search facility to the users to find out the contents that are offered by EMME. The site should be easy to maintain, administer and above all to use.

Features

EMME Website is the user interface for EMME service members. The website accepts user input and communicates it to various EMME web services, which implements the business rules for the service. The web services interact with the EMME backend systems and databases for data update and content retrieval. The resulting information will be relayed back via the web services to the user interface for presentation. There will be no direct interaction between the EMME website user interface and any backend systems or databases for data update or content retrieval, and as few business rules as possible contained in EMME website user interface.
